Homes Show Better in Spring
Think about it – if you see a picture of a home covered in snow, you can’t really see its full potential. The slush covers the potential for the garden, walkway, and many of the best parts of your home. When you list in spring, you have mother nature in her full force, helping you to sell your home. With green grass, and flowers blooming, your home will appear more appealing to buyers.
Moving In Late Spring or Early Summer Is Appealing
Just as homes look less beautiful in winter, moving is a lot less appealing in winter. The cold weather and the less than ideal driving conditions all add up to obstacles to what could be a great move. In spring, as the weather gets better, there are far fewer complications. It’s not as hot as summer, so you can do the heavy lifting without (hopefully) breaking too much of a sweat!
Buyers Have More Money
Springtime is a great time because most Ontarians will have received their tax refund. This extra bit of cash can be the happiness boost they need. It could cover moving costs, or other smaller closing costs related to the purchase of a new home. This influx of money tends to make buyers feel richer and more assertive in their decisions.
The Move Won’t Interrupt the School Year
By selling a home in spring, it is most likely that the home will close in early summer. This means that your move won’t interrupt your children’s school year and you can transition them (if necessary) to their new school at the beginning of the new academic year. Our little ones don’t need any more twists in their already unique pandemic learning style these past couple of years.
There’s Something in the Air
It may sound funny, but people’s spirits change in spring. Maybe it’s the lifting of spirits after six long months of winter. Maybe it’s the infectious joy from seeing the first hints of cherry blossoms and crocuses. Whatever it is, spring has people wanting to move and nest in new places – and you should definitely take advantage of that!
